Veiled Woman
Gobelin woven tapestry
32 x 47 “

During my last months in Morocco as a Peace Corps volunteer in 2008, I photographed images that continue to remind me of the complex country where I lived for more than two years.  This woman, while clearly attracted to the beautiful colors and patterns of her clothing, also follows traditions of modesty that compel her to be veiled around strangers.
