Wrightsville Beach
1997
Gobelin woven tapestry
47×39”

My parents lived in Wrightsville Beach, NC during the 1940s. My brother John and I attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. John renovated a beach house in the 1980s and my family often gathered there for shrimp dinners, long walks and oft repeated stories. During one visit, I heard someone shouting, “Killer wave!” It was a woman with a large inner tube and, judging by the huge grin on her face, having the time of her life! I have often wished that I could meet her again to show her this tapestry.
